Wired Wednesday focusing on office communications

Office workers will be given a vision of the future of office communications thanks to SBI tomorrow. The Wired Wednesday event hosted by Microsoft Gold Partner, SBI and held at Goslings Wine Cellar between 5.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m., will hand attendees an insight into the latest trend in communications from a real-world international perspective, Unified Communications.

Speaker Charles Scott, co-founder and technical director of Quorum Network Resources, based in Edinburgh, will share his experience of working with this new business technology.

His knowledge of the Microsoft Internet Data Centre allied with Internet security, messaging integration and development of product material for the Microsoft Speech Server 2004 helped the company to become one of 19 worldwide partners selected for membership of the Microsoft Speech Server 2007 Technology Adoption Program and an early user of Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging and Office Communications Server 2007.

Ronnie Viera, chairman of the Business Technology Division, said: “We are pleased that SBI has signed on to sponsor this week’s Wired Wednesday.

“From it’s inception, Wired Wednesday has been an event where technology professionals can socialise in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss issues of the day.

“SBI and Mr. Scott’s presentation will provide very valuable insight into some of the latest technology available to enhance business value.”

The event will mark the start of a series of Wire Wednesday sessions, with the government’s Department of E-commerce using the venue to launch the run-up to TechWeek, including the Business Technology’s TechShowcase, with industry representatives reaching out to business and customers alike.
