Apple launches iphone beta 3.0 software the other day to developers and so I renewed my developer license, took a leap of faith, downloaded all the bits and jumped right in. First impressions? Brilliant. The changes aren’t huge, but it just seems like the OS is where it should have been from the start.
Here are the high points:
- Search your iPhone– This is like Spotlight on the Mac. Briliant. One place to search contacts, emails, calendar etc
- Cut, copy, and paste– Obvious. This works much better than I had read it would.
- Send photos, contacts, audio files, and location via MMS
- Read and compose email and text messages in landscape
I can’t wait for it to be released this summer, (sometime after WWDC in June) and once you get it I am sure you will be pleased with the result. Finally, it behaves more like what you are used to if you are a past or present Blackberry user.
